Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23:6

I know firsthand the pain and suffering of grief. No one could have prepared me for the emotional stress and spiritual wrestling I would experience after losing my husband, Steven.

Many of my old rhythms no longer worked as I tried to navigate widowhood. Reading my Bible seldomly brought comfort, and left me questioning and doubting God's promises. Attending church rarely left me encouraged or challenged, as sermons felt irrelevant to the depths of my pain. Spending time with others no longer brought joy, as I often walked away feeling misunderstood and alone.

As a young widow myself,

Founder of Dwell Forever

Overtime, I realized I had to create new rhythms. Rhythms not absent of reading my Bible, attending church or spending time with others, but ones that allowed for tears, lament, and doubt. Within these new rhythms, the Lord lovingly met me, and welcomed my brokenness. As I walk with Him in honesty, He's helping me process my pain and rebuild trust. He's also providing people who are loyally present to support and encourage me along way. And, that's our heart here at Dwell Forever—to lovingly meet young widows where they are, and encourage them as they walk through their dark valley. It's our prayer, they will see God's goodness and love following them every step of the way.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
—Psalm 23:6

As the holidays approach, emotions can be especially heavy for the widow and her children. While the rest of the world seems excitedly engaged in decking their homes, planning parties, and keeping fun family traditions, it can be hard for the widow/children to fathom a Christmas without her husband/their father. With that in mind, will you join me in praying for the widow (and her children) this holiday season? All you have to do is select and sign-up for a date (or multiple dates) and on that particular day, pray! It’s that simple, but our prayers are a beautiful and impactful way we can show God’s love and care for them.

#ForeverTrustingHim

a lasting legacy

My husband's faith was one of trust, preserverance, and love. Steven's dedication to the Lord still inspires me today. His lasting legacy for you and me is to live . . . forever trusting Him [God].
